About this calculator
A full chain link fence parts list: fabric rolls, terminal and line posts, top rail or tension wire, bands, bars, caps, ties and concrete.
How it’s calculated
Terminal posts sit at every end, corner and gate side. Line posts go at the set spacing along each run. Tension bands are fitted about every 300 mm of height, doubled at corners.
Worked example
With these inputs:
- Fence length
- 45 m
- Fence height
- 1.2 m
- End posts
- 2
- Corner posts
- 2
- Gates
- 1
- Line post spacing
- 3 m
- Top rail (else tension wire)
- Yes
the result is:
- Fabric and posts
- 2 rolls
- Runs (end to end)
- 3
Tips from the trade
- Stretch the fabric with a come-along or stretcher bar. Slack fabric looks bad and sags.
- Set terminal posts in concrete and let them cure before stretching.
