About this calculator
Turn a decimal or metric dimension into a fraction you can find on a tape, or the other way round. Fractions such as 7/16 are accepted as input.
How it’s calculated
Fraction = round(decimal × denominator) ÷ denominator, then simplified.

Tips from the trade
- Most tapes are marked in 1/16". Cabinetmakers often work in 1/32".
